Gov. Scott lifts suspension of Malcolm Thompson PDF Print E-mail

Malcolm Thompson is once again the Osceola County clerk of court.
Gov. Rick Scott issued an order Friday, lifting his suspension. He suspended Thompson in January after the clerk was accused of assault and battery by two of his office employees.  He was recently acquitted on both charges in two recent trials.
In those incidents, he was accused of battery after allegedly pushing an administrative assistant when she refused to take down Christmas cards in the office. He also was accused of assualt after he allegedly threatened his human resource director while dicussing the Christmas card matter.

The St. Cloud Police Department is searching for a missing juvenile.

On April 9, St. Cloud Police Department responded to 84 Beehive Circle in St. Cloud in reference to a missing juvenile. Upon arrival, an officer learned that 17-year-old Skyler Dillard was last seen leaving the address without permission. Skyler is described as a biracial female, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and 202 pounds with dyed black hair with blonde streaks and brown eyes. She also has a tattoo on her wrist. She is believed to be in the Kissimmee, area.

Anyone who spots Skyler is asked to call the Criminal Investigation Unit/ Det. Muñoz at 407-891-6727 or 407-891-6773.

He often joked with his peers at the Kissimmee Police Department that he hadn’t “authorized” anyone to commit a crime in his city.

You can find your thrill on blueberry hill.

It isn’t on a hill exactly, but Osceola County has its first “u-pick” berry farm for blueberries and blackberries.

Located just outside St. Cloud’s eastern city limits, the new farm has some 2,400 blueberry and blackberry plants, and the berries are ready to be picked now.

Margarita contest introduced

Going on a hot air balloon ride won’t be the only way to get high when the Kissimmee Festival of Festivals debuts in September.

Festival organizers have just announced a margarita challenge, a contest designed to concoct the best margarita in Central Florida.

The Festival of Festivals is a new event scheduled for the fall calendar in western Osceola County. The main event will be the hot air balloons.

Writing scores for the 2012 Florida Comprehensive Achievement Test for individuals school districts were released today and Osceola County School District fourth-, eighth- and tenth-graders scored better or equal to the state average and, in many cases, higher than their peers in all other Central Florida school districts.

After a year of planning and four months of construction, the St. Cloud Police Department in April unveiled the complete remodel of its facility on Neptune Road.

From the roof to the lobby to the landscaping outside, almost nothing was untouched by the crews from Arnco Construction. The department worked within its alloted $872,500 budget.
